Arminta (Artie Mincey) Adkins, according to what info I can find was born June 1831-32 and died 1910 and she is buried at Salem UMC Cemetery, Mt. Airy, N.C. She was the mother of my great grandfather, Robert Martin Loftis, and the wife of Ambrose Jackson Loftis b. 1824/28 Virginia, married 15 Jan 1846, died 1884, Mt. Airy, N.C., and is also buried at the Salem UMC Mt. Airy, N.C. Some family member had put up a tombstone with all the names on it last spring when I was up in Mt. Airy, Mother's Day. I have a question by some info someone gave me that her parents might be Bartlett Adkins and Susan Aubury, but I was not aware that she was an orphan and "raised by the Martin family" you mentioned, but then I have had a terrible time trying to find out anything about her. Who is this Martin family? I have wondered where great grandfather acquired his name Robert Martin Loftis, so there mus! t have been a Martin family in there somewhere. PLEASE share what you have on her with me. You may e-mail me direct if you wish, at [email protected]
