Here is what I know about my family: John C. Adkins b about 1790 to 1800, m Catherine Graham in Belmont Co, Ohio 24 Oct 1825. Three children: Abraham b1827, George b 1829 & Abner b 1831. By 1840 Catherine was deceased and the boys given to a guardian. Don't know what happened to father, John. Records for Abraham and George could not be found after 1840. Abner Adkins, my gr-gr-grandfather m Mary Jane Bogard 5 Aug 1856 in Stark Co. Illinois. Children: George A, John A, Joseph H, Belle, Abner A, Cora A, and Gasper. Entire family had moved to New Sharon area, Mahaska Co, Iowa by 1885. George Abraham Adkins was my great grandfather, m Harriet Newlin, 3 Sept 1877, New Sharon, Iowa. Children: Oriel, Ira, Cora, Jacob, and George Benjamin (my grandfather). If any of this fits you and your ancestors, I would love to hear from you.
