    1. [ADKINS] Re: Searching Louisiana, Texas and Oklahoma
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Sprouse Dykes Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/AJ.2ADIB/1484.1.1 Message Board Post: Dan and others, I am also hunting the elusive 'Sprouse' in Louisiana ties. I suspect that the 'J.C. Sprouse' that this discussions surrounds is either a brother of my 'Jeneral Lee Sprouse' or a very near relative (or even the same, mixed-up person!). According to Social Sec app for my grandfather, William Lafaite Srpouse, his father was Jeneral Lee Sprouse, his mother was Dolly Annie Dykes Sprouse. This also fits closely with the 'Molly' memory. My 'J.L. Sprouse' was supposedly born in Tennessee but I have yet to find any record to support that nor can I positively locate him in any census record. Look up Jeneral Lee Sprouse in WorldConnect. You will see my (squeakysfamily) listing as well as another person's listing for his line. I have never been able to correspond with the other person that listed these names as I never get a response from my emails. So far, I haven't been able to positively identify even who Jeneral Lee's parents were. Another point of referenc! e is William Burton Sprouse AND Daniel Webster Sprouse. Daniel Webster Sprouse migrated from LA to Ark and purchased land. Daniel's is the only marriage listed in the Sprouse marriage rolls in Rapides Parish, LA. He married Daisy Hodge. These are possibly brothers of my Jeneral Lee Sprouse but, again, unconfirmed. If they are indeed all brothers, their father's name was William (middle name unknown) and the mother is probably named Elizabeth. This 'J.C.' has got to fit into this puzzle right in here! If anyone has any more info or can help with any of these clues, please contact me or post message here for us all!
