Maggie had 2 sisters May and Wonnie Adkins. May is my great grandmother and she had my grandmother before she was married. My grandmother told me on more than one occation that she thought James Hargis was her real father, but he was somehow related through marriage to May. Thought she said he was May's uncle. Anyway, I'm still stuck on Adeline Adkins so I can't be of much help either but when I saw the name James Hargis in black and white it sent chills! Maggie was married to John Burgess and Wonnie was married to James Kurle. I know that my Adkins family line were moonshiners and were caught up in the Hatfield/McCoy thing and probably used aliases. I know that my ggg-grandmother was an Indian and alot of the Adkins family received Dawes Rolls because of her but I'm not even sure what her name was. All I have is a picture of her holding a squirell on her lap. Hope this helped but it probaly just confused you even m! ore. The Adkins line is a mess!!!!
