Thanks. Could you please send me the URL? I Googled "Sand Mountain Mulungion Families" and got a check spelling message. Is the word Mulungion misspelled? I am some what familiar with a tribe of mixed race people but can't remember the spelling either. I believe it is "Sand Mountain Melungeon Families" and here is the link http://www.pantherslodge.com/sand.html Yes, this is the line from which I believe my William A.. Adkins , b. 1818 descends. Owen Adkins and his wife Agnes Goad were and some of their children were killed by Indians. I believe William descended from their son who was scalped, but survived. I think it was brother Benjamin Adkins who hid in a log to escape the massacre. My William A. Adkins married Adeline Tate, the daughter of Alfred C. Tate and Elizabeth McDonald/McDonnold. I have searched long for her Native American connection, but it eludes me. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Winnie J.
