The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Neal-Tarpley Chapel, with the Rev. Linda Thompson officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today and from 11 a.m. until the hour of the service Thursday at the funeral home. Neal-Tarpley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. She was born Jan. 22, 1922, in Montgomery County, daughter of the late Herbert Leach Adkins and Lucille Smith Adkins. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Frances Adkins and Evelyn Adkins, and one brother, Herbert Adkins, Jr. She was a retired bookeeper for Willoughby Drugs and had been a member of Hickory Point United Methodist Church since 1938. She loved her family and her church and also loved gardening, sewing, working, her flower garden, and was a wonderful cook. Survivors include two sisters, Anne A. Langford and Jeane A. Clark, both of Clarksville; nephews, John Adkins, James Clark, Russell Adkins and Michael Clark; nieces, Linda Langford Troupe and Elizabeth Langford Morris; greatnephews, Brett Adkins, Nicholas Morris, John Morris, Cameron Clark, Caleb Clark, and Samuel Clark; greatnieces, Jennifer Adkins, Ashley Adkins,Taylor Adkins, Katie Adkins, Hanna Clark, soon-to-be Lily Clark and Margaret Clark (her namesake); sister-in-law Ghoram Adkins; and brother-in-law, Robert Maurice Clark; care givers, Gwenolyn Terry and Shirley Stacker. Pallbearers will be Russell Adkins, John Adkins, James Clark, Michael Clark, Gregory Troupe, John Morris, Nicholas Morris, Lee Troup, and Andy Swaffer.
