JARRELL FRANCIS ADKINS, JR. (JAY), passed away peacefully on Friday morning, November 4, 2005, at Christus St. Joseph's Hospital in Houston, Texas. Jay was born August 9, 1960 in Alexandria, Virginia, to Jarrell F. and Nancy G. Adkins and grew up in Alexandria and on the Northern Neck of Virginia. He is survived by his parents of Clemmons, NC, his sister and brother-in-law, Judith A. and John B. Thompson, of Winston-Salem, NC; his sister, Rebecca Ann Adkins of Summerville, SC; his niece, Jane T. Ciener and her husband, Greg, of Winston-Salem, NC; his nephew, J. Christopher Thompson and his wife, Suellen, of Kernersville, NC; 4 grandnieces, Caroline Ellen, Katharine Jane, and Elizabeth Anne Ciener, and Macy Estelle Thompson; his best friend, Jim Hines of Houston, Texas; and many other wonderful friends who loved him dearly. Jay was a florist in Houston for over 25 years and gave many friends and loyal customers his gift of arti! stry and creativity through his genuine love of his work.
