I have a number of Owen and William Adkins who are brothers, some of whom are from Kentucky. However, I do not find any that fit the time frame that you gave. Also, I do not have any Raneys in my database. It is possible that there is some connection, but based on what information you gave I do not find one at the moment.

Henderson was married to Meda A., her last name on a marriage license of one of their sons looks like Dameron or Damuron. (Meda A. Dameron b. Ohio). Henderson L. and Meda A. lived in Dickinson County, Michigan and also lived in Pike County, Kentucky. Henderson L. Adkins was adopted and Adkins wasn't his original surname. Family members told me it may have originally been Howard. His mother or Grandmother was a full blooded Indian from Oklahoma. Henderson L. and Meda Adkins had two children maybe more.
