You should order his Social Security application and it will tell you his parents, where he was born, etc. As you can see he got his SS# in West Virginia so I am guessing he was born there. You'll need the record to be sure. I took a look at the 1930 census to see if I could find him but did not. It may be that he was born after the census in 1930 instead of the 1929 date on the SS record. You could also try to get his death certificate from Nevada. I am also including some other Adkins deaths I found in Reno. Who knows....they may be relations. See list below. They lived in Worcester Cty MD but the family may have started in Somerset Cty. The 1850 US Census Grant Co Wisconsin : Shows this family as: William Adkins 26 b. KY Alce 26 b. KY Carline 4 b.Wis. Matthew 1 b. Wis {MINE} Meredith and Sarah Whitt , Alce's parents must have moved from Morgan Co. Ky where she was born , to Wisconsin between 1840 and 1846. They are on the 1840 Morgan Co. Census , But has a four year old child (Mary) as born in Wisconsin on The 1850 Wisconsin Census. Alcy and William Adkins are on the Morgan Co. KY census of 1850 with their children Caroline 4 and shows Matthew was born in Wisconsin ,Therefore The family had to be in Wisconsin in 1849 ( most likely went there with Alcy's parents). Meridith and son Charles Whitt both purchased land in Grant County Wisconsin in 1859, Meredith son stayed in Wis.
