I have notes that he stated he was born in Franklin Co., Va and that his father's name was William. I am still searching for the source of that information. He remarried in Wise County, VA to Sarah Bowman Vance, but does not list his parents name, so it wasn't from that source. I also have notes that I received in the late 1970s from an Adkins researcher who stated that Henry's parents were William Adkins who married Ann Standley/Stanley. I have been in contact with a Stanley researcher who had in her records that Ann Standley married a Mr. Adkins in Franklin Co., VA., but she did not have the first name. My email address is [email protected]

The young man I am helping find his roots is the son of Everett (Mike?) Javins who was 25 when he was born. We believe this young father was a son of Everett Lester who moved to Lincoln NE from WV and died there in Lincoln in 1982. It seems with all the Everetts there must be a tie in. I am assuming your relationship is with the maternal side and not the Javins. So even t hough you would have the same great grandmother there would be no blood relation is that correct. Anyway if you learn anymore about Norma or her children please share with me. Thank you so very much.

Most of my information, outside of what was given my by a long-time searcher comes from the usual sources. Although I have been looking for over 25 years, I still can't find the parents of my Lewis, B 1785 in VA (Pittsylvania, I think) He and his brother Richard moved to Grainger Co., TN C 1800. Both married MONROE women there 1804 and 1808. What his lady gave me, many years ago is as follows: Robert B. bef. 1655 in Engl. Mar to Helena PARKER: Joseph B bef 1675 in Eng., Mar Mary DAVIDSON. D. Aft 1728 in VA. William V. B Bef 1695 in Chard, Somerset, Eng. Mar to Eliz PARKER 16 Jan 1716-16 in Henrico, VA Parker B C 1720, Goochland, VA. Mar to Mary ALEXANDER D 1781 Halifax, VA Elijah B. 1768 in MOntgomery, VA, Mar to Nancy Ann HUNTER. My problem is that she said that Elijah was married before he married Nancy to an Indian Princess (aren't they all) and they had 1. My Lewis B 5 Aug 1785, Mar to Elizabeth MONROE in 1804, D 14 Jan 1868 2. Elijah B 1787 Mar to Mary HUNTER in 1801 3. Richard B 1788, Mar. to Mary POlly MONROE 15 NOv 1805 and maybe Nancy B 1790. In 1790 he married Nancy HUNTER. Whether the 4 children listed above belong to them, to a previous marriage or are nephews is unknown. Elijah and Nancy had 5 other children: Elizabeth B 1793, Mar to David WALLACE in 1809......ELiza B 1795 Mar to James WALLACE........ Kevi B 1796 , Mar to Elizabeth GEORGE in 1812........ Millie B 1798, Mar to Samuel WALLACE in 1813...... and Rachel B 25 FEb 1799, Mar Samuel FOSTER. If any of this is what you have or you can add or subtract anything please let me know. I have so many question marks in all the generations behind my Lewis. Thank you Earlene Hutsell [email protected]

    1. [ADKINS] adkins family
    2. Hi, Do you have the names and dates of birth of Parker and Charity's children? I have Lewis, B 1785 in Virginia (I always believed in Pittsylvania County) He had a brother Richard, and they moved to GRainger County, TN. Lewis married Elizabeth MONROE in 1804 there. Richard Mar. Mary Polly MONROE. I also have thought that Parker was the father of Elijah who married Nancy Ann HUNTER, but I have no proof . I have in my records that ELijah was born in MOntgomery Co., VA C 1768. Now there is a generation between these men that she didn't have. My records show (these were obtained from a woman who had worked on the ADKINS family for many years) the Parker's father was Joseph and his mother was Mary DAVIDSON. They were both born in England He in 1675 and she in 1680. Their children (according to this source) were: 1. Richard B aft 1715 in Henrico Co., VA 2. Major B Aft 1715 3. Henry B aft 1715 4. William B aft 1715 5. Parker V. B C 1720 in Goochland, VA, Died 1781 in Halifax, VA, Mar to Mary ALEXANDER(B 1735 in MOntgomery Co. D. Aft 1768 6. William B 1721 in Henrico Do 7. Henry B aft 1728 in Goochland, D 1756 Joseph's parents were Robert B. Bef. 1655 in England and Helena PARKER. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Now, I have PROVED none of this, except for my Lewis and Elizabeth MONROE ADKINS. I do have most if not all of Elijah's and Nancy HUNTER children. They married 28 Nov, 1790. Now, maybe Elijah had a first wife who died or he and Nancy had three children before they married. They would be: Lewis, B. 5 Aug 1785, Mar Eliz MONROE 24 Jan 1804, D 14 Jan 1868...... Elijah B 1787, Mar to Mary HUNTER C 1801........ Richard B 1888, Mar. to Mary Polly MONROE 15 Nov 1805..... and maybe Nancy B 1790. Other children of ELijah and Nancy HUNTER are: 5. Elizabeth B 1793, Mer. David WALLACE in 1809 6. ELiza B 1795, Mar to James WALLACE 7. Levi B 1796 Mar to Elizabeth GEORGE 22 July 1812 in Knox Co., TN 8. Millie B 1798, Mar to Samuel WALLACE in 1813 9. Rachel christened 25 Feb 1799, Mar to Samuel FOSTER in 1818, D. 4 Apr 1866 Any help in straightening out this mess or making corrections would be most gratefully appreciated..... especially on Lewis parents and back. Thanks and Good HUnting. Earlene Hutsell [email protected]
