    3. I am tempting once again to hopefully find a fellow adkins researcher that can help me. I am seeking any information on the parents of Effie Adkins. Effie was born May 18, 1891 and died March 01, 1920. She married Charles Willis July 28, 1909 in Greenup County Ky. According to their marriage record... Effie was born in Pike County, Ky. Her death record states that she is the daughter of "Nate Adkins" and "Katherine Smith". Effie had at least one sister..."Dellie" She married John Blake. My Uncle told me that Effies family was from "Prichard", West Virginia. I have come across several Nathaniel Adkins...but none seem to line up. If you would have any of these names in your data base that would be similar to my family would you please contact me. Effie is my Great Grandmother and I have searched to know about her for years.... Thanks

My mother was his sister, Alta Adkins Napier who married Charlie Napier from Radnor, WV. Most of their married life was in Ohio - Sterling, Rittman, West Salem and finally, Wooster. Both Alta and Charlie Napier died in 1991, 10 months apart and are buried at Rittman Cemetery. Tony's nick name was "bow legs." He and his wife Dimmie came to our house in Rittman, Ohio after they were married and stayed with us for a while.

    3. I am looking for any information on following Adkins family. John Thomas Adkins(1860-1950) married Margaret Pennewell (1863-1935) in 1884 in Worcester Co. Md. in the 1870 census for Worcester Co. I found John in the household of John B.W. Adkins (1840-1917) John's father being Laban Adkins and Laban's father Nimrod Adkins. My John is listed as John Thompson age 10 and a apprentice farmer in the 1870 census. I found his father's obituary in 1917 that states Mr. J.T. Adkins is an adopted son. My family lore states that John walked on ab Adkins farm and took thier name. I have been to the courthouse trying to find apprenticeship or guardian papers on my John but as of yet to no avail.
