ANYTHING I CAN DO FOR YOU HERE? LINDA I am interested in the Georgia family of William Adkins and Sally Millirons (?), the were married around 1885 according to the 1910 Pulaski Co. Ga. census. William was born around 1857 and Sally around 1869. They had 9 children with 8 living in 1910, their daughter Ida Mae was my grandmother, she married Pink Suggs in Pulaski Co. Nov.1910. I would appreciate any help with this family. Adkins, Creed Adkins---do not know for sure the relationship. His mother name we believe to be Cora or Cara Miller Adkins and his father Cleeve Adkins. It seems he was from the Praise, Ky. area. Do any of these names ring a bell? This is all that I have been able to find out.

I don't believe this is the same one though. He had told people that he had a sister named Juanita. It seems that his mothers name was Cora {or maybe Cara} Miller Adkins and the area that they are associated with is in the Praise, Ky. area. His fathers name was Cleeve???? Adkins. There is the name of Creed Adkins of Shelby Gap, Ky. mentioned but I have no idea what relationship if any. Also a possibe W. H. Adkins as an uncle. Not much to go on. Charley Adkins was born in the early 1900's.

It is unlikely that Susannah Price, born 26 May 1756 (daughter of William and Susannah Burton Price) is the mother of the children of Drury S. Adkins (son of Edward and Mary Adkins). She would have been age 49 when married. Not impossible but not probable that a woman that old would have such a large family. I think we have a situation where there are two Susanna PRICEs and two Drury ADKINSes Any thoughts, guys???? Happy searchin' Pat

Adkins, 67 WARREN - Herbert Mitchell ADKINS, 67, of Horizon Village Nursing Home, and formerly of Second Street in Niles, died at 11:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2000, in the nursing home. He was born Feb. 14, 1933, in Moorehead, Ky., a son of Bannie and Lula Thornsberry Adkins. Mr. Adkins attended Niles High School, worked on the Alaskin Pipeline, and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. His wife, Mary Holbrook Adkins, whom he married Dec. 8, 1953, died in 1979. Survivors include a son, Mitchell of Niles, two sisters, Mrs. Thelma Petricini of Warren and Mrs. Rosie O'Rouke of Coral Springs, Fla.; and three grandchildren. Five brothers, Ross, Donald, Albert, Robert and Brascue; and two sisters, Mrs. Mary Sapp and Mrs. Ada Foster, are deceased. The funeral service is 1:30 p.m. Friday in Lane Funeral Home, where friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Kerr Cemetery. Published on August 17, 2000
