Va. But I have had no luck in finding more than a few deeds, which don't tell me anything about his family. I know he died in Caswell Co because his son-in-law asked to be buried in the the Adkins cemetery near his first wife. I will sure be happy to send you any information that I happen to find and hope you will do the same. Anita

He was the governor of Arkansas in the early 1940s. Your ladies would be the right ages to possibly be a sister (or sister-in-law) and daughter or neice. I haven't followed his family much since I have never found a connection with my husband's line. There should be some documentation on him somewhere as he was a rather controversial governor. I have that he graduated from a business college in Little Rock in 1911. So he should have been in Pulaski Co. at the same time as your ladies. Happy searchin' pat

    1. [ADKINS] William's family
    2. I would like to ask one and all, if anyone has the family of William V and Elizabeth PARKER in their files and proven. I've received a lot of mail in the past year that states a lot of facts, but very few verifications. Below is what I've been given and I'd like anyone who has the facts to verify any or all of it, please. 1.Robert, B. Bef. 1655 in England 2. Joseph B 1675 in Eng. Mar to Mary DAVIDSON(B. 1680-Eng, D Aft 1759 in VA He died after 1728 in VA. Their children as listed. 3. William V, B Bef 1685 in Chard, Somerset, Eng, Mar 1715/16 in Richmond, Henrico Co., VA. D. After 1735 . 4. Richard B. Aft 1715 in Henrico Co, Va 4. Major B Aft 1715 4. Henry B. Aft 1715 4. Henry, B Aft 1715 4. Parker V. B C. 1720, Goochland, VA. Mar to Mary Alexander( B 1735) Mar in MOntgomery Co., VA. D. aft 1768 4. William, B 1721 in Henrico 4. Henry B. Aft 1728, Goochland, Va. 5. Parker V. C 1720 Then, I have that"A "Parker and unkown wife, had a son, Elijah B C 1768 in MOntgomery Co., VA, who married Nancy Ann HUNTER, D/O Robert HUNTER and Millie LEWIS. Then, it gets even more confusing. Elijan and Nancy married in 1790. There were 3 maybe 4 kids born earlier than that who I can't place in any family. They are. 1. Lewis, B 1785, either in Grainger Co., TN or VA, Married Elizabeth MONROE in 1804 2, Elijah B. 1787, Mar to Mary HUNTER in 1801 3. Richard B. 1788 in MOntgomery, VA, Mar to Mary Polly MONROE 15 Nov 1805 3. Nancy B 1790 Then comes the proven kids of ELijah and Nancy: 1.ELizabeth, B. 1793 , marr. David WALLACE in 1809 2. Eliza B 1795, Mar to James WALLACE 3. Levi, B. 1796, Mar. on 22 July 1812 in Knox Co., TN to Eliz. GEORGE 4. Millie B 1798, mar to Samuel WALLACE 5. RAchel Chr. 25 Feb 1799, Mar to Samuel FOSTER in 1818, D. 4 Apr 1866/ It's the Christian names of these kids that make me think they belong to this family, although there is no proof that I know of. Lewis-- her mother's maiden name Elijah-- the father's name Nancy -- the mother's name Richard-- first child of Joseph and Mary Mille-- maternal grandmother's name Considering the way the frontier was in those days, it wasn't that unusual for children to be born before the marriage was recorded. The other option is that Elijah was married before and they were his children ( some say he was married to an Indian princess---- wasn't everybody????) or they could be orphaned nieces and nephews, or maybe they don't belong to Elijah at all. If anyone has this confusing family separated fact from fiction, I would love to get rid of all this extraneous data in my files so I can take the family back to England. I have several contacts with genealogy societies there that are willing to help, but we must get them back to the immigrant and proven. Lewis and Eliz. (MONROE) ADKINS are my husband's ancestors and I have been looking for over 25 years, and still can't prove his parents, so I would be very appreciative if anyone has the facts. Thanks so much for your attention and assistance. Good Hunting. Earlene Hutsell [email protected]

Do you know who William Adkins married? I do not have a name for his wife. Do you know of other children besides Jenny and Mildred? William was granted land in Caswell Co in 1778. Prior to that, I believe, he was in VA. No idea where.
