    3. I am impressed with all of you. I can't believe the response we have had regarding subscriptions to the list. It just proves that the interest in Adamson Research in continuing and gaining strength. I believe the use of the internet is making our research easier and definitely different than it was done ten years ago. One of our new tools is the Mail List. It combines the abilities of Email with a copy machine, an automatic mailer and a library into a very powerful tool. It is important that we use it to our fullest. As we correspond to each other, we correspond to all. Everyone can see our needs and the responses. An example of this is that I know of other people interests, but have no idea if you have mutual interest. I am willing to wager, that their are a lot more mutual interest than we think. For that reason, along, I created the list and ask that you use it and share information with each other by mailing to the list.. You may be answering only one person's request and unbeknown be solving someone else's puzzle. This list is not moderated meaning you can mail directly to the list, and it mails to all subscribers. It is important that you mail your messages to the list. It is very tempting to send a private message, and I guess that would be OK, but if there is any commonalty to the message, it would be appreciated by all. I have set the reply option, so as if you reply to a message, it will send it to the list. Can't be much easier than that. If you'd like to post a message so everyone on the mailing list receives it, just send it to ADAMSON-L@rootsweb.com. It will then be sent on to everyone in both mail and digest mode. You don't need to send it explicitly to both. One of the newly installed features at Rootsweb is the Archive facility. I have already requested that Our list be archived and future researchers can look at all of the messages sent on this list. This makes this list more attractive, because sometime I wish I had saved that one message about that John Adamson. In the future all I will have to do is go to the archives and search on "John Adamson" . If that makes sense, you now understand the power of the computer. The archives has just started and there is little data in most of the mail lists but you may want to just try out the search features to get a sense of how it can aid you. choose the "impatient" option ,I was shocked with the results I did my search on "Adamson" Find it at : http://archiver.rootsweb.com/archives One more item that I would like to address. Most of us have accumulated some basic research records or have records available at our local Genealogical Library. If you have the time and would be willing to do some LOOKUPS (on Adamson and Related families ) for other researchers, We would appreciate having knowledge of such. This may be information regarding local of your area, or of some area you have extensive research. Again I want to thank each and every one who has subscribed and now ask that you help by posting your needs and information. In the first 48 hours, without any formal advertising on the regular Rootsweb, Cyndi's list, and other Genealogical research listing, we now have Thirty ( 30 ) members. .........jerry ADAMSON - FELSBURG research, A RootsWeb sponser plus, http://www.rectec.net/users/jadamson , ICQ-29312561
