He had siblings named John, Betsy, Agnes, William, James, Elizabeth, Christina, Margaret, Robert, Jane, Andrew and Dougal. There were 13 in all. The mother Agnes Baird Adamson was born in 1778 in Baron Parish, Lanrickshire, Scotland. She married William Adamson, born in 1776. Agnes, Dougal and Alexander came to the U.S. (Alexander was 26 and Dougal was 24) on a ship named Carnatic. We have some excerpts from a journal Alexander kept on the ship. Dougal would have been my great-great grandfather. Not sure whatever happened to Alexander. They settled in the west. Marnie Adamson Bernard
