    2. Dear Sue Anne I received your request for information but hve not at this time found anything in my records, however I will keep a look out. I have not bee very active for the past year as my Mother in KS ,who is 91 , has been in poor health and although I am retired and working part time , I have been able to spend time with her also . This active schedule has played havoc with my searchs. My Adamson roots start with John Adamson in Bucks Co PA and end in Kansas as I am the last of the Adamson males ( 66 years old) in that line and I have four daughters and no sons. Lets keep in touch cousin Sincerely Rex Adamson Madison , AL

    1. [ADAMSON-L] My Favorite Mail List
    2. Jerry F. Adamson
    3. I am impressed with all of you. I can't believe the response we have had regarding subscriptions to the list. It just proves that the interest in Adamson Research in continuing and gaining strength. I believe the use of the internet is making our research easier and definitely different than it was done ten years ago. One of our new tools is the Mail List. It combines the abilities of Email with a copy machine, an automatic mailer and a library into a very powerful tool. It is important that we use it to our fullest. As we correspond to each other, we correspond to all. Everyone can see our needs and the responses. An example of this is that I know of other people interests, but have no idea if you have mutual interest. I am willing to wager, that their are a lot more mutual interest than we think. For that reason, along, I created the list and ask that you use it and share information with each other by mailing to the list.. You may be answering only one person's request and unbeknown be solving someone else's puzzle. This list is not moderated meaning you can mail directly to the list, and it mails to all subscribers. It is important that you mail your messages to the list. It is very tempting to send a private message, and I guess that would be OK, but if there is any commonalty to the message, it would be appreciated by all. I have set the reply option, so as if you reply to a message, it will send it to the list. Can't be much easier than that. If you'd like to post a message so everyone on the mailing list receives it, just send it to ADAMSON-L@rootsweb.com. It will then be sent on to everyone in both mail and digest mode. You don't need to send it explicitly to both. One of the newly installed features at Rootsweb is the Archive facility. I have already requested that Our list be archived and future researchers can look at all of the messages sent on this list. This makes this list more attractive, because sometime I wish I had saved that one message about that John Adamson. In the future all I will have to do is go to the archives and search on "John Adamson" . If that makes sense, you now understand the power of the computer. The archives has just started and there is little data in most of the mail lists but you may want to just try out the search features to get a sense of how it can aid you. choose the "impatient" option ,I was shocked with the results I did my search on "Adamson" Find it at : http://archiver.rootsweb.com/archives One more item that I would like to address. Most of us have accumulated some basic research records or have records available at our local Genealogical Library. If you have the time and would be willing to do some LOOKUPS (on Adamson and Related families ) for other researchers, We would appreciate having knowledge of such. This may be information regarding local of your area, or of some area you have extensive research. Again I want to thank each and every one who has subscribed and now ask that you help by posting your needs and information. In the first 48 hours, without any formal advertising on the regular Rootsweb, Cyndi's list, and other Genealogical research listing, we now have Thirty ( 30 ) members. .........jerry ADAMSON - FELSBURG research, A RootsWeb sponser plus, http://www.rectec.net/users/jadamson , ICQ-29312561

We believe Joseph to be Margaret's grandfather (her father being William, who we think drowned). Margaret also had a sister Ann, who married Anthony Kilgore 1815, as per marriage record in Mason Co. KY. Joseph gave permission for Ann to marry, as we think he did for Margaret. When did Uriah settle in LA? Is it possible that Anthony and Ann settled there also? We have never located them after their marriage. Do you have access to the 1820 LA census? Could you check for the Kilgore. Are you descended from Uriah and Margaret? Need more information on the Washington Co. MD connection. It was witnessed by Marshall KEY Know nothing about Margaret or how Joseph is related. Uriah and Margaret moved to Catahoula Parish, LA, where Uriah was already residing. I believe he returned to Mason Co., KY to visit relatives. There were a William and John WIGGINS, who signed an Oath of Allegiance, along with Uriah in Washington Co., MD in 1778. They both settled in Mason Co., KY in the 1790's. Any info appreciated ! Houston in Louisiana --------------1DDE16EDF68DDBDB3F20E5CE--

    3. I know you are all holding off in posting anything, so I will start: To my surprise I sent the notice of the mail list to every Adamson researchers I have in my address book, at 5:00 am this morning. By 7:30 am we had eleven members subscribed. So knowing that we will get more later this week, I will post this now and again at some later date. As I can monitor the numbers of subscriptions, I will do so when it levels out. In the mean time, I suggest you post, save your message and post again. That way we will be gaining knowledge.. My effect is to collect ALL ADAMSON INFORMATION. I have expanded my search efforts in the last year to include the KY/OH Adamson's that are Descendants of the brothers Joseph and John ADAMSON who moved to Mason Co. KY about 1794. All in last year, I have taken interest in finding all children of Simon Sr. (that's going to be a choir). My third interest is extracting 1880 soundex for all states for Adamson's. This also is going to be quite a task, but I have started. Lastly, I have an WEB page that includes a database showing Adamson researchers that are descendants of John Adamson. If you are a descendant and your name doesn't show, let me know the connections and I will correct the database. If you aren't a descendant of John, let me know your lineage, as I intend to modify the database to include more or add another database to reflect other researchers.
