    3. Jerry, I don't have anybody for you to look up. But I live in No. Virginia, close to DC, and when taking relatives to the Vietnam Memorial, we have often noticed a Larry K. (I think) Adamson name on the memorial. This name stands out as it is similar to my brother's name Larry L. Adamson. In the memorial reference book, he is listed as being from Kansas. Do you know who this honored Adamson is? Rick Adamson -----Original Message----- From: Jerry F. 3. I have completed extracting the 1880, 1900, 1910, and 1920 Kansas Soundex for the Adamson Surname. They have not been proof read, but I can on a limited basis, do a lookups for anyone. Please provide the name to be searched, the approximate year and state of birth if known. Also recommend another family member ('s) to confirm selection. This would provide you a county and possible township to look in the regular census. Some of the pages are difficult to read and soundex data can contain translation errors , so using the soundex is only an aid for searching. Send your requests via this List. Then all members will know whom you are looking for and the results if I find any. Jerry

    3. -----Original Message----- From: Betty Grove [mailto:grove@alltel.net] Sent: Monday, May 03, 1999 5:21 PM To: ADAMSON-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [ADAMSON-L] Adamson lineage Here is my husband's lineage on the Adamson side: John ADAMSON I (abt 1690-1753) and Ann SKUCE(Skew) Thomas ADAMSON, SR (1717-1790) and Mary BURSON Thomas ADAMSON, JR. (1758-1816) and Sarah EGON Charles ADAMSON(1797-1867) and Sarah HATFIELD My wife's line comes from Sarah Ann Adamson their daughter. I wonder if you have any information on any of the above, as to what they did and where they lived etc. I also notice your name is Grove and she has a Grove in her other line. Sarah Ann married a Perry Moore and there is a Grove as an ancestor. I know nothing about her, but have some info on her husband who was a Moore. This is what I have: [1] Dr. John Moore married to Hannah Armstrong...He was born in Ireland on July 19, 1741 and died in Greene Co. PA on December 2, 1818. He and Hannah are buried in the Armstrong Cemetery Ground, 3 miles east of Carmichaels, PA. There were three sons and probably five daughters. I believe John Jr. was the first born..... [2] John A. Moore Jr. was born in 1792 in PA and died in 1861, married a Susannah Shriver [location and date unknown] I have no information on Susannah. I believe that they lived most of their lives in Greene Co. but not sure...I have a estate record from that County Will Book that lists him as the administrator to his fathers estate. That will was filed for probate on February 20, 1819. They had nine children...6 boys and three girls..... Thomas Moore was the eighth child born.... [3] Thomas Moore..was born in 1809 location unknown [probably PA and Greene Co] and died on January 24, 1892, location unknown. He married a "Rachel Mapel" the 13th child of a William and Eleanor {White} Mapel... They probably lived in Greene Co. also, but not sure.. Rachel was born in 1810 in Greene Co. and died in 1854 in PA. I do not have any date or location of the marriage..... He apparently then married a "Elizabeth Grove"...and it would have to have been after 1854 sometime. It is said that Thomas had 10 children but it does not state how many from which wife..... The only children that I have are......[1] Perry Moore born April 22, 1836, my wife's line. [2] Alfred Moore, born in 1841 [3] William Moore [4] John Armstrong Moore born June 9, 1848. That's all the children that I have on record... Again I am assuming that they spent most of their time in PA and in Greene co. but they could have moved at some time also....I hope something fits.... I have considerable info on Perry and his wife Sarah Ann Adamson etc. I do have some gaps so any assistance would be appreciated.....Mike Crawford Montana Stephen Hatfield ADAMSON (1822-1891) and Lucy KNIGHT Cahrles W. 1. [ADAMSON-L] ADAMSON (my lines...new post from Lainie Hendrix)
    2. I'm just getting started on my ADAMSON lines (thanks to Rick and Jerry!!!). Here's where I stand thus far. Lainie Hendrix ADAMSON: 1. John ADAMSON and Ann SKEW (Skuce). 2. Thomas ADAMSON, Sr. and Mary BURSON [apparently, Mary's mother ties into my POTTS?] 3. Thomas ADAMSON, Jr. and Sarah EAGON. 4. Barnet ADAMSON and Isabella JOHNSTON. 5. John J. ADAMSON and Nancy SMITH. 6. Matilda ADAMSON and "Unknown" MILLER This relationship produced one son, William Thomas, who was raised by Matilda's *3rd* relationship partner, "Unknown" PRITCHARD, from whom William Thomas took his own surname. I have not yet found any marriage records for Matilda and any of the 3 (possibly 4?) men with whom she had children. 7. William Thomas (Miller) PRITCHARD and Sarah Elizabeth HANLON (O'Hanlon). 8. Laura Odessa PRITCHARD and Robert "Earl" POTTS. 9. George Lewis POTTS (living) and Celia "Faith" ATKINSON (deceased) 10. Alice Elaine POTTS (myself) and Leland John HENDRIX (living) I'd love to hear from anyone who might be able to assist me in clearing up the mystery surrounding my Matilda ADAMSON's spouses/relationships. Her first son, William Thomas (Miller) PRITCHARD, was born 04 July 1871 in OH; Matilda had a son by "Unknown" NOLAND, Ogle NOLAND (b. ca. 1873 in OH). Then, it appears she married "Unknown" PRITCHARD in OH, and then had Genittie PRITCHARD ca. 1877, and Wesley PRITCHARD, ca. 1878. It is very possible that Matilda ADAMSON married a fourth man (this could have been her very first marriage): Martin STRAHL --- married 02 Feb 1862 in Washington Co., OH. I have not yet found anything firm on this marriage. If this is the case, Matilda ADAMSON would have been about 15 1/2 years of age at the time of the marriage. Many thanks! Lainie Hendrix

    3. To: List Members: From: List Manager: I have a couple of items that will be of interest to all. First, I have made several changes to my web page. 1- It now includes a link to a ADAMSON Data Research site sponsored by Merlin Schuman and myself. It now includes an Index for All volumes of the ADAMSON ANCESTRY published by KARD , Judy K. Dye. Included at this time is federal census abstracts of the ADAMSON surname for most states for the years 1790 to 1850. Also other listings. Other abstracts are in planning stage. 2- I show a link the Rootsweb Treaded Mail List Archive. This will be of great aid to us in searching past messages. It becomes very important that we use the Subject line of our messages with care and forethought. If at all possible the subject line should include the Given name, Dates and location. An example would be [William E. Adamson (1855- ), KS]. It is also important that we use the Reply option of your program to append this title to any replies. 3- I recently lost my Traveling companion. On my home page, you can see my Tribute to Man's best friend. I have canceled my travel plans for May. I will be back on schedule for the June and July trip. 4- I have abstracted several more 1880 Soundex. They have not been proofed and I am looking for some volunteer ('s) to proof the abstracts. I have paper copies of each micro-film page so I can send you a complete state to proof. Contact me if you are willing to proof read one or more states. I would estimated that an average of two to three hours would be necessary for most states. A listing of states I have abstracted can be found by looking at [Credits and Links] and then [CLICK X] and then find the Microfilm listing. The sooner these are proofed the sooner they can be published. Also for those of you whom have access to microfilm readers, I can send the roll of film. That would be a complete proofing. 5- If your name is not shown on the ADAMSON researchers Database, I would appreciate receiving your lineage or as much as you have, and I will incorporate it into the database. If you have questions, contact me direct. 6- You will note that I intend to start a listing of names and addresses of Adamson researchers. 3. All I can find about Andrew Jackson is on his wife Julia. In 1900 Kansas Census with children and in 1910, Kansas City MO with three daughters, Julia C., Clara and Willa B. Also have reference to this family in Adamson Ancestry, KARD , Volume 10 as Branch #46. I could not find anything other records.

    2. Am trying to locate the whereabouts of Andrew Jackson Adamson after 1891. Andrew was born @1844 in IL, son of Robert and Margaret Elizabeth Clark Adamson. He married Julia Clara Newell in Richland County IL in 1867. The family moved to Sabetha, KS between 1880-1883. Andrew and Julia had 10 children, with the last born Jan.1899. Andrew was not listed with the family in 1900, and the family story is that he left and was never heard from again. Has anyone come across an Andrew Jackson Adamson that might fit this profile? Now I have a question concerning his twin brother. My grandfather died September 6,1923 and his twin brother died seventeen days later on September 23, 1923.Both are buried in Russell County, Ky in the same cemetary. I received a death certificate this week for my grandfather and decided to get one on his twin brother. According to a look up that someone did for me there is no information concerning his twin brothers death certificate. His death date is on his tombstone in Russell County, Ky. What would be the reason that there would be no death certificate and what would I do next to find out how he died? I applied for the death certificate anyway just in case. I have been looking for Claudie B. Adamson, the twin brothers death certificate on line for a few months and could find nothing, that is why I ask for someone to look it up. 2. Where is Russell Co. KY? Is it near another state? Could he have died while on a trip? If his death occurred in another state, that is where the death cert. would be found. Perhaps his obituary would tell where he died. Additionally, perhaps the cemetery has info on his place of death. Evelyn Young

    2. HI, Looking for ANY JOSEPH SAMUEL ADAMS, from ANYWHERE. Mine married 1792, BOTETOURT CO., VA, but could have migrated there from ANYWHERE. I have spent a great deal of effort, trying unsuccessfully to find any record of this Joseph ADAMS, other than his above marriage record. Might there have been a name change, ADAMSON to ADAMS? If so, my Joseph could have been related to your Joseph. Your comments would be most appreciated Gordon Adams: GorAdams@aol.com
