Adams, 81, of Harborcreek Twp.,PA passed away Monday, January 23, 2012 at St. Vincent Health Center. He was born in Girard,PA, on September 17, 1930, son of the late Stephen and Veronica Adams. Tom worked for IBM Corp for over 30 years, retiring in 1985. He was a member of St. James RC Church. Tom was a veteran of the US Army, serving in the Korean Conflict. He enjoyed horse racing and was an avid golfer and a loyal fan of the Cleveland Browns, Pittsburgh Penguins and Notre Dame. Tom loved traveling to Las Vegas on Amtrak with his family, and enjoyed classical music and opera. He most enjoyed his wife's cooking; and time with his grandchildren, attending every event in their lives. Preceded in death by one sister, Irene Hazen. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Shirley Stetson Adams; his three loving daughters, Nancy Mitchell of Erie, Carol Adams of Chicago and Becky Klimczak of Erie; six grandchildren, Michael Monroe (Suhaylah), Josh Mitchell (Heather), Adam Mitchell, Ashley Mitchell Knight (Brian), Marissa Mitchell, and Taylor Klimczak; two great-grandchildren, Ella Mitchell and Shawn Knight; two brothers, Eli Adam! s (Betty) and Jim Adams (Shirley); one sister, Alice Quinn; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc., East, on Friday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., and are invited to attend a Prayer Service there on Saturday at 9 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. James RC Church at 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery with military honors.
