The only reason I responded re this ADAMS line/connection was the following: I have found that in many cases, cousins and distant cousins did marry. A coincidence in a last name, could be more than a coincidence; that is families who knew one another, including relatives. The source of Mary ADAMS, her father being a John ADAMS from basically the same geographical area, and then evolving, through marriages, to another, later John ADAMS, could be a coincidence, or that the families were familiar with one another, and possibly related. The best way check one's suspicions would be to have a DNA test done.
