    3. I have been looking for my gggrandmother's roots for years and have not been able to find her lineage. She was Susannah (Susan) Adams (1799-1874) born and died in NJ. She married Jonathan Pullen (1791 NJ -1880 NJ). They had four children that I know of, Theodore b 1830, Lewis C b. 1831, Louisa A b. 1837, and Edward S b. 1839 (my ggrandfather). Because of their ages when their first child was born (J 38 & S 30) it is possible they were both married before. I have not been able to find marriage records for either Jonathan or Susannah. I have the census records and Jonathan's death record, and a picture of his gravestone. There is a marker next to his in the Riverview cemetery that is unreadable. Surnames connected to this family through either the Adams or Pullens are: Sharp, Wooley, and Bohlinger. Surnames connected to this family by their childrens' marriages are: Richardson, Panner, Kendrick, and Yates. I understood from my family that Susanna's maiden name was Adams and she kept that name to preserve the Adams family line as there were no males in the family to carry on the name. The other family story is that Susanna was a direct descendant of Samuel Adams the Patriot. If anyone is connected to NJ Adams family, I would like to compare notes with you.
