I have come to a block with John and Sopha (or Sophia) Adams whom were both born in Germany, John in 1844. Their family seemed to be from the New York area. I've tried searching through German records, but they are very difficult to find. Any help would be appreciated. I am also interested in Sophia's maiden name.
