    3. SOME reference is fine. I have never had a problem with that.....And for being a long time member Suzanne you should know I don't interrupt "dialogues" unless there's a reason for it. The topic of the movie CAN be discussed w/o it being constantly mentioned as being a movie. There was a link that was posted for it, so people can check out the link. I'd like to go see it IF it shows in my area. And you could have more success at finding someone who relates to your Adams if you posted your information periodically instead of just reading. Your (anyone in general)not going to find your family if you just stay in the back ground & never post your tree for the new members to see. We've had several new members joining, I asked not to long ago that everyone repost who they are searching for......not one person new or old has done that. The only activity there's been is messages from the Message board. But boy as soon as I ask that the 'movie' (NOT the info. w/in it) part not be mentioned the list comes to life LOL Please continue talking about the family that this movie is about.....I never asked that THAT part of the conversation be stopped. 3. ok I'm going to lead the parade. I am in search of the parents of the following boys. John A. Adams b. 1822 m. Nancy Marlin William J. Adams b. 29 Apr. 1824 m. Mary Marlin Archibald Stewart Adams b. 1829 m. Rachel Marlin It is said that the Adams and Marlins were friends/neighbors in Londonderry Ireland Maghera Parish. The Adams supposedly came over first sometime very late 1700's. The boys were born here. The girls are daughters of John Morrow Marlin and Rachel Graham. They came to America circa 1831-34 with 11 of 14 children and took up residence in Chester Co. area of S. C., attending the Fishing Creek Church. Two of the Marlin girls m. Wylie boys. Nancy Marlin's brother John Morrow Marlin Jr. m. Lilly Ann Wylie. They raised a John G. Adams who was supposedly one of 4 boys, him being the youngest at about age 4 when his parents (John Adams and Mary Brown) died about 1844. This John G. Adams m. the daughter of my Nancy Marlin and John A. Adams. Rachel E. Adams b. 1848 d/o John A. Adams and Nancy Marlin. She married John G. Adams son of John Adams and Mary Brown who d. circa 1844 John G. Adams was raised by the brother of Nancy Marlin So John G. Adams (however related) m. the neice of the man who raised him. How he was related to Nancy Marlin's husband John A. Adams is a myster. How he THEN was related to his wife Rachel E. Adams is also a mystery. He went further to Clay Co. AR. My John A. Adams was born 1822 Chester S. C. John G.'s father John Adams was born 22 Dec. 1817 Chester S.C. Looking for possible other sons by the names of William Watson Maybe even George John G. being the youngest I believe my John A. Adams and this mystery John Adams b. 1817 are 1st cousins and "their" fathers are brothers. I believe my John A. Adams father was named John. I believe John Adams b. 1817 father was William. The Adams were gone from SC before the Civil War and went through Obion Co. TN as did some Marlins and scattered about till reaching White Co. IL where my family finally landed. William J. Adams b. 29 Apr. 1824 S.C. d. 26 Jun 1854 White Co. IL m. 1847 to Mary Marlin. Children were James Jackson Adams b. 1848, Rachel Jane Adams b. 1849 and John Calvin Adams b. 1854 Archibald Stewart Adams b. 1829 S.C. m. 1856 to Rachel Marlin. I have no children for them. 1850 Chester Census claims he was living with his brother prior to his marriage to Rachel.
