She was born June 10, 1937, in Spencer, W.Va., the daughter of Fred Dale and Goldie (Harold) Allen. She married Robert M. Adams on April 20, 1957, in Ashland, Ohio. Carolyn Adams was a woman of varied interests. She was a Cub Scout Den Leader for Oneonta Pack 21. She also coached girls softball for the city of Oneonta Recreation Department for several years. She loved to read, was a homemaker and a crafts person, able to work in a number of different arts. However, her most important love was her husband, children and grandchildren. She will be remembered by us as being our biggest fan, quietly encouraging each of us to do our best. We shall miss her very much. She is survived by her husband, Robert M. Adams of Otego; two daughters, Terri L. Horan and her husband, Edward W. Horan, of Otego and Cathy A. Grimes of Otego; one son, Larry Robert Adams of Saratoga Springs; one stepbrother, Keith Drake of Charlotte, N.C.; one cousin, Ross Harold of Chattanooga, Tenn.; four grandchildren, Joseph P. Horan, Jeffrey A. Horan, Anthony R. Grimes and Nicholas W. Grimes, all of Otego. Funeral services will be held on Friday, Dec. 18, 1998, at 1:30 p.m. at the Bookhout Funeral Home, 30 River St., Otego, with the Rev. Ross Harold officiating. Burial will be in the Otego Evergreen Cemetery, Otego. The family will be in attendance on Thursday, Dec. 17, 1998, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Bookhout Funeral Home, 30 River St., Otego, for those who wish may call.
