Elijah and Melvina did have 16 children. My grandmother Nora Elizabeth (she was called Nora) was one of them. I believe that Charles Adams was Nora and Steve Cummings Best Man. But I am not sure where the name Garris comes in. The last name was Adams as far as I know. Of course I don't know too much about him. I do have a picture of Elijah with several of his children when they were pretty young if you are in your line and you are interested. It was given to us by my fathers cousin.
