Patriarch was Urbane McClendon, 1814-1862, m. Mary Polly Simmons on Aug 8, 1833, children and birthdates as follows, from the 1850 census of Pike Co., MS and from family bible: Jesse Verlin McClendon, 1834 Jane Ann McClendon, 1836 David Jackson McClendon, 1838 Narcissa McClendon, 1840 George Washington McClendon, 1842 Mary Elizabeth McClendon, 1845 GeorgeAnn McClendon, 1853 Benjamin Wesley McClendon, 1856 Nancy Eliza McClendon, 1849 Both Urbane McClendon and his wife Mary Polly are buried in the Silver Springs Church Cemetery in Pike Co., MS. This is just half an hour's drive north of the "boot" of Louisiana, and I have lots of LS folks in my family tree as well. However, this is all I have on the McClendons. Did you try posting on the McClendon message board, the message board for their county, and did you try searching LA archives for the records you are seeking?
