Sikes Garris who was one of the 2500 captured at Charleston, SC served on a British supply ship for 6 years, at midnight jumped the ship when finally back in Charleston, with a friend ran for the woods, got 640 acres in Muhlenberg Co., Ky, named after Reverend, Major, Colonel, General, John Paul Peter Muhlenberg. Finding making a living there and the COLD winters-I was in Ft. Knox for basic training-went to IL, MO, IN, PA, etc.
