In 1913, the state decided that it needed the land where the Asylum had been burrying any unclaimed bodies of people who died there. Perhaps 5,000 people were dug up and cremated, then put into labeled and welded copper cans to be stored in an unused part of the state run mental facility. Still over 3,000 patients' urns are waiting for family to find them. This is the long list of urns that are labeled ADAMS with as much info as I have.
