    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: lcangel Surnames: Angel, Angle, Boone, Carson, Kincaid(e), Sells Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.adams/8188.3.2.2.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: We certainly do share many surnames. That in itself is worth working on. To date I have not been able to find any information prior to my family's arrival in Missouri. There is information that a John Angle from St. Louis, MO was a fur trader in the late 1700's. Francis Angle, the name of my furthest Angle ancestor, was listed as the administrator to his will in 1818, I believe, so John could reasonably be my ancestor. Knowing the nomadic nature of fur traders, I am not sure I will ever figure out where he came from. But Daniel Boone's trek west led him through St. Louis complete with Kincaids and Abraham Lincoln's father. I would love to know everyone that was included in that trek west with him from Yadkin, NC. My John Moses Angle married Mariah (Marie) Boone Kincaid in 1872 in Pike Co., Illinois (across the Mississippi from Pike Co., MO). John's father, Moses Kelly Angle, married (Martha)Sarah Weathers Adams in Pike Co., MO in 1849. I was told by a Adams descendent that Sarah's parents were David and Nancy Adams. I have not been able to prove this. This is my Missouri connection to both families. How do your Missouri Adams and Kincaids fit? It would not be out of the ordinary for my Angles to have once been Angels or Angells. My great grandfather changed the name from Angle to Angel. So the difference in the name from your family does not stop me interest in a connection. A Kincaid family member had spoken to me about my connection to the family and I found out that my ggreatfather had been very good friends with his Kincaid cousins, particularly Pearl, who had been an actress in the very early 1900's. I had been in touch with an older gentleman that was looking for a connection with my Angles, because his Van Bibber ancestor had married a Nancy Angle and he could not find where Nancy was from. He was in his 80's and may have passed, but he followed many of my posts on this family in roots web. Do you see any connections to this? I believe you are the only response I had to this post. Maybe we should share GEDCOMs. You can reach me at: [email protected] Laurie C.
