My Adams originate from Ireland. Don't know when they got here, but my brother's DNA test link us with the SC Adams even though I find no info that they were there. My Adams traveled along the National Road route and into Ohio, later into Mo, and onward to Montana and California. James Adams was born abt 1872 in Ireland and I first find him in the 1840 census in Wheeling. The children married into families such as Morrow, Giffin or Giffen, Finney McDonald, and Dunn - as in the steamboat captain. Descendants that I know of still reside in Sedalia, Mo. and Florida.
