He, Thomas, left Oregon in 1848, for the Napa Valley and many more travels. One of his older daughters, Elizabeth Adams, married Benjamin Cornelius and their son Thomas Ramsey Cornelius, was important in early Oregon history. Town of Cornelius is names after him.
