    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: markjohnson200 Surnames: Adams, Rathbone, Ransom, Rogers, King, Yeomans, Burdick Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.adams/14118.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I ran across this entry in the National Archives that supports my hypothesis that Wealthy Adams (1775-1873), Simeon Adams (1768-1833) and Nathaniel Adams (1783-1861) are children of Simeon Adams (1742- )and Lydia Brown Skyhawk (1739- ): >From the text, "The New England Notes and Queries, Vol. 1, 1890", page 113, a genealogist from the period asks: "71. Adams.-Simeon Adams, of Stonington, Conn., married, prior to 1770, widow Lydia (Brown) Sparharok, who by previous marriage had daughters Sabra, born 1763, and Lydia, born 1765. Simeon Adams had eight children born in Stonington between 1770 and 1788, who married into the Rathbone, Rausom, Rogers, King, Yeomans and Burdick families. I am unable to connect this Simeon Adams with his ancestry. Who can aid me in doing so ? (Signed) Washington, D. C., N. D. Adams." I have some assumptions about people who could be the children of Simeon Adams and Lydia Brown (and then I have some questions): Assumptions about who might be Simeon Adam's children: 1. Hannah Adams (1764- ) m. Jonathan Rathbone(1765- ) 2. Simeon Adams (1768- ) m. Esther Ransom (1772- ) 3. Wealthy Adams (1775-1873) m. Bliss Ransom (1770-1855) 4. ? Adams m. ? Rogers 5. ? Adams m. ? King 6. Nathaniel Adams (1783-1861) m. Clarissa Yeomans (1783-1849) 7. ? Adams m. ? Burdick Questions: 1. Does anyone know the source of the claim that Simeon Adams and Lydia Brown had eight children? 2. Can anyone provide sources that might validate my assumptions about Simeon and Lydia's children? 3. Can anyone fill in the blanks? Thanks in advance for your advice. Mark Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
