I've been looking for this man's wife as well as his father for years. By 1890 census, neither he nor his wife are in the household in Arkansas. Their eldest daughter (Eliza Jane Adams Cocherell is head of household then). I've had dna done to no avail (yet). As a side note, "Robert J. Adams" has also been listed as "John Robert Adams" and was called "Bob". I have ordered death certificates for all his children and his wife is listed as "unknown" on one and as "Eliza" on the others. 1. Robert J. Adams's wife: Eliza (Last name: Thomas? Lane? Who knows?) 2. Robert J. Adams's children: a. Eliza Jane Adams Cocherell Cobbs (died in Tulare, California in 1956) b. Joseph Henry Adams (died in Okemah, OK in 1960) c. George Washington Adams (died in McAlester, OK in 1971). I would be SOOO grateful for help. If anyone has any extra time to search court records, I would be so thankful. God bless!
