This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: DavidA591 Surnames: Adams, Austin, Craig Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.adams/14291.2.1.2/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Marilyn, Thanks for the query but I'm sorry...none of the names you've provided are familar. There was an exodus of Adams' family members, along with members of the Austin and the Craig families, from Nicholas County, Kentucky in the mid-1830's, through Boone County, Indiana where they stayed through the 1840 US Census, arriving in Rock Island County, Illinois in the early 1840s; so there may be some connections further back through the families from Indiana. Gary or Kitty I can respond to you here because I'm not part of the message board post on this Ephraim but I am curious about your John Adams of White Co. IL My Adams family came out of Chester So. Carolina though but they too went to White co IL. >From there a few went on to Arkansas Adams is a very common name but the White co IL caught my attention. Most of my father's family came from there as did my father.
