I am looking for any documentation supporting the parents of Jesse being Edmund Adams and wife Elizabeth Cooksey (as alleged in most on-line databases). I have see a transcription of 1781-1808 Greensville Co., VA marriage bonds compiled by Mrs. Dorothy Hedges Goodwyn which has one for: "Adams, Edward & Elizabeth Cooksey, 17 Dec., 1788. John Baptist Cooksay, father, consents. Isaac Adams, Sec." Have you found any documentary evidence for the parents of Jesse Adams? I ask because my wife descends from John Goodrum, brother of Jesse's father-in-law, Bennett Goodrum. My wife also descends from "brick-wall" Collin Adams, whose 21 Nov 1803 Greensville Co. marriage bond with Martha E. Goodrum is included in the above transcription. The bond was likely secured by Martha's father, the above John Goodrum. I'd like to see if a connection exists (or not) between my wife's Collin Adams and the subject Jesse Adams.
