I found that the wagon train our Adams likely came on arrived in the Columbia Gorge, not the Southern route. It was 1850. They may also have been in California first. One of the young men (John Weaver) overwintered in Cornelius and his mother was Anna Adams. They had been in Taney County, Missouri for a few years before leaving for the West, Kentucky, Tennessee and Botetourt County, Virginia before that.
