My great gram was the Adams, so we wouldn't have any of that unbroken line Adams DNA. They took an 1854 Wagon Train from Independence Mo to Napa CA. Rather precarious, I would guess! The migrations before that, after Virginia, were to Hopkinsville, Christian Co, Kentucky to Madison CO KY, then on to Howard County, MO from approximately 1829 until they made their way West. In Howard County, MO, four Adams siblings (Thomas, Polly, Andrew and Wilson Hicks Adams, my ancestor) and spouses had neighboring farms. Cousins must have all known each other. Only Thomas made it to the West. It was he who lived to age 94, and quite sharp, I have heard. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
