The Pittsburgh Social Register states she was a direct decendent of President John Adams. Their son was named Gilbert Adams Hays who was a close friend to Frederick Dent Grant the son of President Grant. President Grant then General Grant was the head pall bearer for General Hays. He father was a silversmith from Washington County PA near Pittsburgh. I would like to know if this is possible. General Hays is buried at Allegheny Cemetery within 20 ft of Reade Washington who was blood related to both George Washington and Meriwether Lewis.
