It's a shame your Jack wasn't born soon enough to be on the WWI pensions records. You might have found a birthplace listed there. I did find his Social Security Record. Name: Jack Adams SSN: 326-10-5893 Last Residence: 60505 Aurora, Kane, Illinois, United States of America Born: 20 Jul 1906 Died: Mar 1971 State (Year) SSN issued: Illinois (Before 1951) With the referance of Aurora, Kane, Illinois I also found a 1930 census. Jack C Adams Home in 1930: Aurora, Kane, Illinois View Map Age: 24 Estimated Birth Year: abt 1906 Birthplace: Pennsylvania Father birthplace Pennsylvania Relation to Head of House: Lodger Race: White Occupation: Education: Military Service: Rent/home value: Age at first marriage: Parents' birthplace: View image Neighbors: View others on page Household Members: Name Age Gertrude Jungels 43 Alton J Jungels 22 Pearl M Jungels 16 Kenneth L Wood 22 Jack C Adams 24 Philip T Hazelett 21 You will notice it lists him as born in Pennsylvania and father also born in Pennsylvania. If you know that he was in the service during WWII you might find a military record on him. I was able to obtain my fathers medals from WWII and a copy of his enlistment record. I found a couple of family tree's that list him as Jack Adams, but without any further information. I found Ruth Richardson's 1920 Census. 1920 Ruth Richardson Name: Ruth Richardson Home in 1920: Aurora Ward 3, Kane, Illinois Age: 10 Estimated Birth Year: abt 1910 Birthplace: Illinois Relation to Head of House: Daughter Father's Name: Edward Richardson Father's Birth Place: Ohio Mother's Name: Lottie Richardson Mother's Birth Place: Illinois Marital Status: Single Race: White Sex: Female Able to read: Yes Able to Write: Yes Neighbors: View others on page Household Members: Name Age Edward Richardson 35 Lottie Richardson 30 Harry Richardson 13 Ethel Richardson 11 Ruth Richardson 10 Edward Richardson 6 Walter Richardson 5 Also a couple of family tree's for her. Two include pictures of when she was young. Public Member Tree 2 attached records, 3 sources Family tree Name: Ruth E Richardson Birth: 3 May 1910 - Illinois, United States Death: Aug 1986 - Aurora, Kane, Illinois, United States of America 2 attached records, 3 sources Ruth E Richardson Jack Adams Raymond Royal Richardson Minnie Louise Squires Name: Ruth E Richardson Birth: 3 May 1910 - Illinois, United States Death: Aug 1986 - Aurora, Kane, Illinois, United States of America Parents: Raymond Royal Richardson, Minnie Louise Squires Spouse: Jack Adams One of the family tree's includes a picture of Ruth. Niether include information on Jack other than his name. Also mentions a second Husband Gardner Magill 1907-1960, and a third James Douglas. So where do you go from here? I'd look for his newspaper obituary. Probably under Jack Adams since it doesn't appear he used Clarence. I tried to find an earlier census in Pennsylvania with a Harry Adams but came up with two or three possibilities. Then I would begin the old fashioned way like my grandmother used to do with a hand written note to your elderly relatives. The reason is that many of them have a box just like my Mother in law did of obituaries and another of old pictures of relatives. The obituaries went back to the 1930's. Some so fragile you had to take care handling them. The owners of those family tree's would be good contacts also. You need to do it now before the elders die and take that information with them. Something that will help you in just a few years is that the 1940 census will be available. I'm not sure how hard records are to get in Illinois. Perhaps you could find his death certificate? Sorry I couldn't be of more help to you. This is not my family. My Adams were Kentucky to Missouri to Oregon. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
