This family was last in Red Oak, Charlotte Co., Virginia. But they've also been in Pittsylvania Co., Botetourt Co. and Halifax Co., VA. I'm at a standstill in my search due to a roadblock of major proportions. There is a Joseph Adams born approx. 1768 ( we're not sure where but it might be VA ). He married an Elizabeth Seagraves in Botetourt Co., in the year 1792...this is certain. He tried to move his wife and children to Missouri...this is certain. But he either died on the way or shortly after arriving at his destination. Some of the kids also died ( yellow fever ) but the wife and 2 boys returned to VA. One of those boys survived until he was an old man....his name was Samuel Adams. This is my line. But we have no clue as to Samuel's father Joseph's parents names or where they were from. If anybody out there thinks that their Adams' tree could connect to mine - please contact me. I'm looking for a family that would have either lived in VA or some of the surrounding states like North Carolina, Maryland or even New Jersey. Do you have a Joseph in your line that would have been born in the 1760's. If so....let me know. Thanks, Christie Adams PS: April, can you contact me. I'm not sure who the John (Jack)and Mary Adams are that you are working on. It's helpful to know some of the various family lines to see if there are any connections. My Grandmother was her sister Eva Vaden Stone Brimmer. My father, William Christopher Brimmer III (1916-1997) remembered his Uncle Harold Adams in a small volume he wrote of memories and geneology. I believe it was Harold who took him out to sea the first time. I know a couple of the Stone sisters lived with their parents Edwin Everett (who was called Everett) and Ada until the parents died. Hester and Una were the ones that lived with Everett and Ada, there may have been a third sister living there. I have learned most of my knowledge of the Stone family from doing geneology after my father's Death. My parents lost contact with the Stone's in the late 1950's, although in the 1970's we drove by the family home. My father was a career Army officer, and we moved a great deal until he retired in 1961. Then we moved to Warren Michigan, where he lived until his death in 1997. If you have more questions let me know. I will try to answer them.. Denise Brimmer Bearre; Fife Lake MI Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
