Venus was my great grandmother, her daughter, Julia Ann Adams was my grandmother, and Julia's daughter, Della Colmer was my mother. She married Richard Lowe in 1937. I recently tried to find info on Raphael Adams on Ancestry.com, but due to lack of info as to when or how he came to the USA I had no luck. I had to give up my search for a short time due to cancer treatments and then some home remodeling. I hope to resume my search again soon. I also have been searching for history about my grandfather, Joe Colmer, husband of Julia Ann Adams. He was of Indian decent and left his reservation at about 12 years old. I know only that he went to Fouke, Arkansas where he was taken in by a family named Colmer that ran or worked at a sawmill. We beleive that is where he got the name Colmer. I would be willing to share any materials I have on any of these family members and would love to know if anyone has any history about my family. I am looking for information on a Martha Adams who lived in Chetco, Curry Co., OR at one point in time. I do not know if she lived anywhere else. I don't know her birth year. However, knowing what generation she was from might help. Martha Adams was the granddaughter of Elizabeth Klingensmith / Klinglesmith (b. 1811 PA; d. late 1800s in Brookings-Harbor, Curry Co., OR). According to a letter from a long-deceased family member, Elizabeth died in Chetco. (When I searched on Chetco, Oregon to see if it was in or near Brookings or Harbor, google found the Chetco Community Public Library in Brookings. Martha Adams also was the cousin of my great-grandfather Michael Harvey Smith (b. 7 Feb. 1853 Armstrong Co. PA; d. 18 Sept. 1942 OK). Elizabeth Klingensmith was the 2nd wife of James Harvey Stitt, Sr. and the mother of Jane Stitt. Jane Stitt married Benjamin Smith. They were the parents of Michael Harvey Smith. Elizabeth (Klingensmith) Stitt migrated with her son James Harvey Stitt, Jr. to Brookings-Harbor, Curry County, Oregon. The letter that gave the information about Martha Adams also said that Elizabeth (Klingensmith / Klinglesmith) died in Chetco. Lee Anne Center

Does anyone know if Jacob ADAMS (b: 27 Mar 1787) and Nancy STAMPER (10 Oct 1790) had a daughter named Sarah ADAMS b: 11 Jun 1815 in Tennessee. Sarah married Alfred KECK. I believe Jacob ADAMS parents are Jacob ADAMS (1753-1833) and Mary Polly STAMPER (1756-1823). I incorrectly thought that Nancy STAMPER'S parents were Joel STAMPER and Nancy CANNADY, but upon further research, discovered that Joel and Nancy's daughter, Nancy STAMPER, married Charles ADAMS. I have found 2 different Denton Adams. One was married to Lydia Dains and was born early 1800's. The other was married to Nancy Wilson and was born about 1828. I have also found 3 different Nancy Adams. Nancy Wilson Adams is not the Nancy Adams connected to the Grinnage family. This is all very confusing, I know. Hope this little bit of information helps.
