Not yet anyway. I will continue to see if there is any linkage. There were several families with the last name of Adams that moved into the Atlantic County area during the 1600's. My guess is that they were related some how. Best of luck with your search. Dan Lawless Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Thirty years ago, Mr. Adams and his brother WILLIAM lived in Cherokee County, Alabama. John went into the war and, after peace had been declared, came to Texas and located in Washington Co. Two years ago he moved to Denison. His brother William had been lost sight of entirely and it was supposed he had perished in the federal army, as the last heard from him was that he was serving in the Kansas cavalry. Such was not the case however. He has been living at Kingsley, Kansas a number of years and learning his brother was living in Denison, came down Sunday and the brothers are spending the week together. He was the son of John Q. and Margaret Adams. James, had 3 brothers that I know of: William, born abt. 1800, Calvin Winslow, born June 15, 1806 and Reuben, born about 1808. The 4 sons came to Canada and settled in Elgin County,in Ontario. I can find no death record for their father, John, just that the record of the will leaves me to believe that he died prior to March in 1863. There are no records here in Ontario for either parent so I am assuming they stayed behind in New York State. It was passed down through the family that the boys had come from the Albany area. If you find any connection to your family I would greatly appreciate your help. These Adams' are of Irish origin.
