Author: domingo4951 Surnames: Adams Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.adams/14265.3.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Hello Brett, If you go to the Family Tree Elijah Madison Adams and his Ancestors on Ancestry.com, I've posted a copy from Vermont Records that I found in 2011. In September 2010 I was in Tunbridge and met with Mr.Farnham, the Tunbridge Town Historian. After numerous emails and a couple of letters, he finally responded with some results. He went through the town records. Eisha Bennett Adams and Aseanth Camp were married in December 1801. Elisha Gillett Adams was born in 1805 according to the records in Tunbridge. He also listed a number of Adams who lived in the Tunbridge Area. I did a brief search on them and as I recall almost all of them were from MA, not Canterbury,CT. Probably ancestors but my main focus is the descendants of Henry Adams of Canterbury. Also I ask him to do a search for the Camp Family, apparently he didn't have time. Unless you go to Tunbridge and spend some time there with Mr.Farnham, I don't think you'll get anything, as he apparently has his own research projects.! If you'd like a copy of what he sent me and the Vermont Record give me your email address and I'll gladly email what I have to you. By any chance do you know or have you had contact with Ida M Daniels? I have been attempting to contact her. She's the granddaughter of Oliver Perry Adams who was a son of Elisha Gillett Adams. Take care, Terry Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. 1. [ADAMS] Mrs. Theodore Walsh - first name unknown, maiden name Adams
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: JohnCathcart01 Surnames: Adams, Cathcart, Walsh, Lawson Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.adams/15309/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Looking for a Mrs. Theodore Walsh, maiden name Adams, who was born in and emigrated from County Antrim, Northern Ireland - probably around 1920), and who was living in New York City in 1947. The information comes from a 1947 obituary of her sister, Barbara (Adams) Lawson, which mentions that Barbara was survived by a sister, "Mrs. Theodore Walsh of New York City." Given the lack of information available from the obituary, I'd have to guess that Theodore was born somewhere between about 1860 and 1890, perhaps also in Northern Ireland. I've estimated the birth of the Adams girl, whom he married, to be between 1870 in 1890. Her father was William Adams. I've also posted a similar query in the Walsh message board. Thanks, John Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. 2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: tlpartee Surnames: Taylor Mann Adams Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.adams/15308/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Hello, I'm trying to find the parents of Geneva "Eva" (Taylor) Mann Adams. She was born on 29 Dec 1904 in Carteret County, North Carolina; married Romie Mann on 14 Aug 1919 in Wildwood, North Carolina; married Ernest Glenn Adams on 13 Mar 1943 in Morehead City, North Carolina; and died on 29 Jul 1988 in Carteret County, North Carolina. I've searched thru multiple family trees and tons of records, but have been unable to determine who her parents were. My best guess for possible parents are Neriah Taylor and Leola Garner. In the 1910 Fed census, Neriah and Leola had a daughter named Nela who was born about 1903. Nela does not appear on the 1920 Fed Census. However, "Eva" appears with her husband Romie in the household of Romie's father, Thomas Mann in the 1920 Fed census. Geneva and Romie Mann had three children: LaRose, Preston and Clanara (?). Geneva and Ernest Adams had one child: Glendon Lee. I could not find an obiturary for Geneva or Romie or Ernest. If you know who this woman is and.or her parents, please reply. He and their siblings William "Willie" and Sally "Saddie" Adams all came to Kimshew, California in the late 1860's. Mary Jane's sister Martha I. Adams was living right next door to them in Kimshew with her husband George Miller and their son George. I am currently researching William A. Adams and Mary Davis Adams but have really not had much luck finding William's parents. I am the great granddaughter of Thomas Jefferson through his only son John Quincy Adams. John Quincy married Florence Gertrude Halstead in 1922 here in Sacramento, CA and their last child together before he died in 1935 was my mother, Mary ellen Adams. I am also in contact with Willie's granddaughter Elmeretta Brown who lives in Chico and we are trying to trace William A. Adam's parents. I will see her on January 30th up in Paradise, CA and if I can get any more information, I will add it to my tree. I! f you would like, I can invite you to my tree so you can share what information and the pictures I have of our Adams family tree. 3. The only reason I responded re this ADAMS line/connection was the following: I have found that in many cases, cousins and distant cousins did marry. A coincidence in a last name, could be more than a coincidence; that is families who knew one another, including relatives. The source of Mary ADAMS, her father being a John ADAMS from basically the same geographical area, and then evolving, through marriages, to another, later John ADAMS, could be a coincidence, or that the families were familiar with one another, and possibly related. The best way check one's suspicions would be to have a DNA test done.
