I've "rescued" an old marriage certificate belonging to John W. KEEN of Falsington, Pennsylvania and his bride Mary Ann ADAMS of Hulmeville, Pennsylvania. The couple was married on the 7th of May 1874 with the marriage witnessed by Clara L. HEADLY, Annie R. CHURCH, and Francis E. CHURCH. I'm hoping to locate someone from this family so that this beautiful old treasure can be returned to the family. If you are a member of this family, or know someone who might be, please contact me. Thanks, Shelley

She was married to William Deal born 1820 died in 1909. I have been told she was Mary Adams Deal. But have not been able to find anything on their marriage. So I have been unable to prove she was an Adams. I have found several May Adams in Patrick County and was able to trace them to who they married but nothing has paned out. I also was told she was part Indian. She is buried in the Adams Cemetery in Patrick County, VA. I have attached her photo in hopes someone may be able to help. Thanks for you time Teddie

MY ggrandparents, were George O Adams and Sarah ?? Adams. There daughter Susan Elizabeth Adams Ihrig was Cherokee and I have a OK Census in front of me as I write, She like to be called Elizabeth. but I found that most Mulatto were Indian for back then there was but to races White are Black and Indian fell in to the Black. My George was from OH and his wife Sarah was from KY and they moved to MO where he died in the civli war as a drummer and was young, Sarah died soon after the children were put with family and in other homes, William Miller Ihrig moved his family to Oklahoma in 1899 after the 1900 census they all ways came up White.for they had a bad time being Indian, for they were ran off the land by white men with gun's and no one in my family would talk about are Indian blood again, so when you find them listed as Mulatto, you can all most bet you have Indian blood!
