I have a William, possibly William C born in Ohio, but lived most of his life in MO. He though, was born about 1863. The ADAMS family I descend from used family names over again through the generations. I would like to know more about the family you are inquiring about, maybe there is some connection. Edwin was not an uncommon name at the time and I'm wondering whether your Edwin is part of the same family? My Edwin went on to marry Kate Stacey and they had a son called Edwin David Adams in 1889. If you need more information let me know....equally I'd be fascinated to see how your edwin links in with other Adams peoples.

    3. Frankie, Larkin's father was Wade Hampton Adams (2/12/1821, SC-1/5/1895, Geneva Co., AL) who married Martha A. Simmons (1838-4/8/1864, Pike Co., AL). But, I'm stuck and can't go any further. So, possibly your Larkin is up the line somewhere in this line. Sorry I couldn't be of more help. 3. Bob, Wish I knew! The Adams family was particularly fond of the name John and William! It really makes tracing the families difficult. Sometimes the more unique names (Larkin, Arthur) make it easier, but it has not proven to be so in my case! I will list him in my "unknown" file. Thanks for asking!

When I look at the dates, I can obviously see that Larkin could NOT be the son of William and Fannie! He is most likely not his brother, either, because he is not listed in Nathan's will. William and Fannie do appear to have had a son named LARKIN, b. 1807 in Russell Co., VA. I apologize if I mislead anyone! Frankie

    3. My stone-wall is John Adams, b 1765 in VA. Nothing further known on his siblings or parents. He shows up in Belmont Co., OH around 1798 and his descendant line continues on both sides of the Ohio River in Ohio and West Virginia. Could my John Adams (1765, VA) be related to your Larkin Adams, ca 1776, VA? Surnames: Adams Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/CI.2ADEB/9010.2 Message Board Post: Dear Mike, I am trying to make sense of the Adams families of Bedford County, PA, for I am a descendant. According to a researcher by the name of Diane Ryder, Elijah married to Eva/Eve Griffith was the son of Robert (abt 1753-1810) and Keziah (Blair) Adams who removed to Westmoreland County, PA. This Robert is thought to be the son of Elijah Adams of St. Clair Twp, Bedford County, PA who died 1798/1799 and was a Quaker. I have not been in touch with Diane Ryder, so I do not know what kind of proof she has. Now the Elijah Adams who married sisters Susannah and Elizabeth Leeper was the son of Robert and Keziah's brother and sister Elijah and Hannah (Blair) Adams. This information is supplied by researcher Paul Gifford, and I understand he has proof. Would you be willing to share some info on the descendants of Elijah and Eve? Also, do you know her parent's names? I am a descendant of a Griffith family of Bedford County, Pa, but I have yet to learn her parents' names. If you don't know, I'll have to ask Mary M. Wilson of Bedford County, Pa. She is an avid Griffith researcher. Sincerely, Craig B. Adams cbaxmas@yahoo.com

    3. Hi, I'm new to this list and I'm researching this Adams family for a friend of mine. Her great great grandfather is Wade Hampton Adams, born 2/12/1821 in South Carolina-died 1/5/1895 in Geneva Co., Alabama, married 1st to Martha A. Simmons and 2nd to Martha Skinner; great grandfather is L. B. (Larkin Bledsole) Adams, born 1855 in Pike County, Alabama-died 11/19/1932, married Josephine Leatha Jones (2/23/1863-8/29/1922). They are buried in Florala, Alabama. They had a child named Rosa Adams (1886-1932) who married Daniel McLennan and they moved to Albany, Georgia about 1910. I'm trying to find Rosa's siblings. If this family is familiar to anyone, I really would appreciate hearing from you. Thank you. Melissa
