We tie into this family and believe they come from Henry Adams.
I have a Peachie Adams, 13 in the 1860 US Census enumerated for Owensville, Robertson Co., Texas, July 9, 1860. She was the daughter of Allensworth Adams, 47. His cook was Elizabeth, 30 and there is no way.of telling if this was his wife. We do know from family lore that he married Elizabeth French in Kentucky and she went to Texas with him, so we feel this Elizabeth was his wife in the census but you would think some of the slaves would have been the cook.. The children shown in the 1860 census are: Peachie, 13, born in Kentucky Elizabeth C., 7, born in Texas Olmsted A., 4, born in Texas (MY Great Grandmother) Caroline V., 2, born in Texas (She was called "Callie" and I have her photo) There is a John Adams, 22, a farm laborer and I do not know who he is. Allensworth was quite wealthy in personal estate value according to this census. I wonder if some of it was the value of slaves. He was know to have slaves when he came back to Kentucky and owned real estate here after his time in Texas. We have to be careful with what we put down as the truth about this character Allensworth, because there are many stories about him. Hope you enjoy this It would be nice if I knew your name. To all:- Personally, I have many relatives in United States, plus have had many ancestors and enjoy using the 1930 census records. The 1911 Canadian Census was released on June 28, 2005 after about eight years of struggle -- with the assistance of Americans. Many are now involved in transcribing the images either in the long format or my preference, Automated Genealogy. http://automatedgenealogy.com/census11/ For 1901 and the three-province 1906 http://automatedgenealogy.com/index.html Scanned Images of 1911 Census http://www.collectionscanada.ca/archivianet/1911/index-e.html Should you only wish to look, one does not need to sign in. Click on VIEW and hopefully that section might be transcribed. Should there be corrections needed, as you know them, let me know, as the proofreaders have yet to view the finished pages. One person asked if Americans were allowed to transcribe? YES -- but please sign the finished page -- do this by clicking on CLAIM PAGE after Line 50 is done. Believe it or not, all families in the TO line are part of my family. Muriel M.
