    2. Jay, Please send me a scan, also. I am researching (along with my cousins) pioneer Adams to Oregon. We cannot locate the family of our ancestor, Sarah Jane Adams, who came to Oregon in 1851 and apparently married that year at age 18. One obit states that she came with her parents, but does not name them. Fisher, 83, of Terre Haute passed away Sunday, Nov. 13, 2005, in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was a lifelong homemaker and also worked at the laundromat and cared for an elderly lady. She was born May 2, 1922, in Hudsonville, Ill., to John T. Adams and Malinda Johnson Adams, and was their only daughter of six children. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Willis Edward Fisher. She is survived by her daughters, Malinda Boyd and her husband, Larry of Indianapolis, Rachel Denny and her husband, Rodney; sons, Russ Fisher and his wife, Patty, Michael Fisher and his wife, Anya and Steve Fisher and his wife, Patty, all of Terre Haute; 20 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by two sons, Charles Fisher and John Edward Fisher; five brothers, Paul Adams, Ralph Adams, Harold Adams, Raymond Adams and William Adams; and one sister, Nellie Adams. She was a devout Christian, attended Four-Square Gospel Church and was a Sunday school superintendent. Her family was very important to her. She never forgot a birthday and always made sure no one was doing without; oftentimes going without herself in order to help others. She loved gardening and canning. Just this past summer she made pickles and zucchini relish. She will be greatly missed by all. Services are 11 a.m. Thursday in Mattox-Wood Funeral Home, with the Rev. Thomas Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Mattox-Wood Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wabash Valley Hospice; or, to Four-Square Gospel Church, 800 N. 13th St., Terre Haute, IN 47808. Envelopes will be available in the funeral home. I found info stating Henington, NY, but can't find that as a place, thought it might be Huntington. His parents were both born in England according to census records, but I have no info on them. Charles lived and died in Knoxville, Tennessee (d.15 Oct 1913) He was married to Mary E. Jenkins b. 1861 in NY. I do not know if they married in NY, TN, or somewhere else. Any help is greatly appreciated. This is a brick wall I have had for a while. Thanks for taking the time to read this.

Adams was born 16 Jul 1843 in Indiana, Pa (don't know town) d. 06 Dec 1861 we didn't know where. Going on the premise he died in the Civil War, I hoped to find out where he might have enlisted so sent an enquiry to the PACEN list, was sent the following which they found on ancestry. George Adams , Enlistment Date: 12 October 1861 Distinguished Service: DISTINGUISHED SERVICE Side Served: Union State Served: Pennsylvania Unit Numbers: 2345 2345 Service Record: Enlisted as a Private on 12 October 1861 Enlisted in Company B, 78th Infantry Regiment Pennsylvania on 12 October 1861. Died Company B, 78th Infantry Regiment Pennsylvania on 08 December 1861 in Camp Negley, KY Found mention that many died in that time frame due to diseases because of the conditions of the camp.
