H. Adams, Willie Raymond This yearbook lists the members of the Senior class of 1929, faculty members, members of the Corps of Cadets, and many members of various clubs (not all). Unfortunately, it does not list the names of the members of the Junior, Sophomore or Freshmen classes (only officers listed for those classes). I extracted all of the names (& some other information) from the yearbook & have put them on my genealogy web site (total of 13 web pages, containing over 1,900 records; sorted alphabetically by surname). The link to the first page of these extracts on my web site is: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~sassytazzy/family/research/1929marshallite/1929marshallite1.html Or it can be accessed through the "General Research" link on the main page at: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~sassytazzy/index.html Please note that I put all kinds of genealogy information on my web site, not just data about the families I am researching. 3. Dear Doris, I am Mary Adams Reed, originally from Riverdale, Maryland, right outside of College Park. I was a frequent visitor to Glen Echo Park up until I left MD for Florida in 1957. I still have 2 brothers living in Maryland, one in Bowie and one in Solomons. I am trying to locate my great-grandfather Josiah Adams who lived in Bladensburg, MD. My grandfather was Henry Lewis Adams, Sr. and my father, Henry Lewis Jr. Ancestry.com has a Josiah Adams in Baltimore in 1920. Do you know anything about him? I have about given up on finding my Adams ancestors. I live in San Diego, CA so getting to public records is impossible. Mary A. 2. Yes, Gwynn Oak had the big roller coaster. My friends and I would always sit in the first seat, even if we had to wait an extra turn to get it. I have heard of Glen Echo but for some reason I think it was the one that I read about that was just over the PA line. You went up Reisterstown Rd. and turned left and went back up in the country close to what became the Ft. Dietrich area. Our church purchased an old hotel up there in olden days and ran a camp in the summers. I'm working on genealogy now but my daughter wants me to stop and write in between haha But what wonderful times to remember--little did we know that people would become capable of doing such bad things. You must have lived in Towson---the old Bendix building fronted on Joppa Rd. I went to a medical ctr. there last year for some tests. Another funny thing--my husband has an Adams line. I traced them to 1750. His Thomas was one of the first 5 buried at Conewago Chapel--I think it's in present day McSherrystown--I have been there. He died in 1776 leaving her with 9 children and 2 farms. She raised the children, ran the farms and lived for another 50 years---now that's a lady !!!! She lived with her son in her last few years and she is buried at St. Joseph's in Taneytown. My daughter and I did his line first --to a point, then I stopped and went to my "southern" roots while my aunts were still living---that ended up being a good thing because those lines are hard to follow. My aunt passed away 2 years ago. Good luck, Doris

    2. Would anyone know the whereabouts or details about the family that owned the Adams Brick Yard in Baltimore. It was said that on the same location an amusement park was built. This would have been in the late 1800's or early 1900's I believe. I think the location was somewhere around O'Donnell Street. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you. Gail

(now WV) in 1860, living in Hamilton County, Ind. 1880, moved to Norton/Thomas Cos., Kansas between 1880-1887, living in Norton Co. Kansas 1900, near son Jonah Adams and wife Louvina Scott Adams. Hugh and Lucinda were both buried in Carey Cemetery, Hamilton Co., Indiana, 1907 and 1909, where four of their children who died early were buried. I have obtained some information on the Cooper line, and on Louvina Scott Adams' Whelchel (her mother Sarah's) line (Shelby, Hamilton Cos., Ind.) I have no information on Louvina's father, Benjamin Scott, b. ca. 1835-40. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks, Marilyn

    1. Re: [ADAMS-L] Welcome
    2. I am not a new member, but as new people join the listserve, I would like to utilize the opportunity to once again, submit my information in the hopes that someone will be able to identify with and help me piece together information I may be missing. My James ADAMS was born abt 1782 in Ireland. I do not know who his parents were or when he arrived in the United States. I do believe he first appears on the US census in the year 1830 in Wheeling, WV. His wife, Sarah (nee unknown) was also born in Ireland abt 1792. Again, I do not know if they met and married in Ireland and came here as a family, or if they came here as children and met here and married. Their children include Nancy Adams (Married John Giffen), Leticia Adams (Married John Morrow), Jane Adams (Married ___ Hill) and possibly remarried again, and James Adams who married Hannah Sycks. Both James and Sarah Adams are buried on Sycks Ridge, in Ohio. Oral history claims James Adams worked on the National Road from the areas between Washington, PA through Wheeling, WV. He later relocated to Monroe County, Ohio where he completed raising his family and where he later died. His son James, who married Hannah Syckes had the following children: Ruth Adams, (Married Chandler Stephens) Sarah L Adams (Married Samuel Finney McDonald) Oda Jane Adams (Married Edwin Paden Dunn) Marshall V Adams, David N or S Adams, Ellsworth McClellen Adams, and William Adams. I have traced most of these children with the exception of Marshall V, David N. I lose them after the 1880 census where they are last found as loggers in Montana and using their initials MV and EM. David is the only one using his name and they are all listed as brothers. I lose William Adams after the 1870 census of Sedalia, Mo but know for a fact that he was the last sibling left after Ruth Stephens death because he is mentioned in her obit in 1916 and listed as living in California. If anyone has history of the Montana logging camps after 1880s please let me know. I have never been to that part of the country and have no idea how to research something like that. If anyone has information about any of the persons listed, please contact me as I am working hard on this important history of my ADAMS family. Sincerely, Suzanne Adams Diaz
