Yes, William York Moore is Diadama's older brother. Thomas J is living with William and Sarah Adams Moore in Mahaska Co IA in the 1860 census. Sarah (Sally) Adams Moore is Samuels sister. Vicki Ames has Sina Hale Adams bible with this information. Sina is married to Abram Adams, Diadama and Samuel's oldest son. Diadama also has a brother John and a sister Sarah who married William G Adams, Samuels brother. I'm not sure about the Samuel J Adams you mention. Thomas Jenkins Moore is Diadama's fathers full name. Mary York Moore is her mothers. I hope this all makes sense How are you related? Diadama is my GG Grandmother. She was born June 10, 1937, in Spencer, W.Va., the daughter of Fred Dale and Goldie (Harold) Allen. She married Robert M. Adams on April 20, 1957, in Ashland, Ohio. Carolyn Adams was a woman of varied interests. She was a Cub Scout Den Leader for Oneonta Pack 21. She also coached girls softball for the city of Oneonta Recreation Department for several years. She loved to read, was a homemaker and a crafts person, able to work in a number of different arts. However, her most important love was her husband, children and grandchildren. She will be remembered by us as being our biggest fan, quietly encouraging each of us to do our best. We shall miss her very much. She is survived by her husband, Robert M. Adams of Otego; two daughters, Terri L. Horan and her husband, Edward W. Horan, of Otego and Cathy A. Grimes of Otego; one son, Larry Robert Adams of Saratoga Springs; one stepbrother, Keith Drake of Charlotte, N.C.; one cousin, Ross Harold of Chattanooga, Tenn.; four grandchildren, Joseph P. Horan, Jeffrey A. Horan, Anthony R. Grimes and Nicholas W. Grimes, all of Otego. Funeral services will be held on Friday, Dec. 18, 1998, at 1:30 p.m. at the Bookhout Funeral Home, 30 River St., Otego, with the Rev. Ross Harold officiating. Burial will be in the Otego Evergreen Cemetery, Otego. The family will be in attendance on Thursday, Dec. 17, 1998, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Bookhout Funeral Home, 30 River St., Otego, for those who wish may call. ADAMS, HON. WILLIAM L., one of the prominent founders of the Republican party in Oregon, while editor of the Oregon City Argus, was born in Oberlin, Ohio, February 5, 1821. He crossed the plains to Oregon before 1850, settling in Yamhill County. In 1855 he founded the Argus, at Oregon City, and edited it till 1861, being the first Republican newspaper in the state. In 1861 he was appointed Collector of Customs and served seven years, resigning because of ill health. Republican League Register of Oregon, The Register Publishing Company, 1896, page 172. ADAMS, HON. SEBASTIAN C., of Salem, was the first man to receive a Republican nomination for office in the State of Oregon, being nominated at Lafayette, November 22, 1856, at the first meeting for Republican organization in Yamhill County to fill a vacancy in the lower house of the legislature. He was born near Sandusky, Ohio, July 28, 1825, moved to Galesburg, Illinois, in 1837, was educated at Knox College, taught school, and in 1850 came to California and Oregon. He located on a donation land claim in Yamhill County. Later he removed to McMinnville and founded the town and McMinnville College, where he taught two years. He presented the college to the Baptists. In 1869 he settled in Salem, and for twenty-five years was a pastor of the Christian church there, but is now a liberal rationalist. He is well known in education circles everywhere and is author of “Adams’ Illustrated Map of History.” He Republicanism has been of the vigorous, pioneer orde! r. ADAMS, HON. WILLIAM H., of Portland, and son of W.L. Adams, was born in Yamhill County, March 12, 1851. He attended McMinnville College and Monmouth College, and was admitted to the bar in 1874. He was appointed Deputy City Attorney and in July, 1874, Police Judge of Portland, serving till January, 1879. In 1882 he was elected to the City Council, and again in 1884. In 1883 hw was its President. In 1887 he was elected City Attorney, and again in 1889.
