Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/CI.2ADEB/9422.1 Message Board Post: Sherry, if you'd add a bit more info to your query it would be easier to do a census look-up for you. Locations, birthyear for Cyrus and Carrie, any details that would catch up someone's eye. I looked but there were too many Cyrus Adams for me to look up before work. If you know siblings for Cyrus and Carrie, you might want to do a separarate query on each one of them and see if you can find family members sideways who may know the story, just not all of the names. I have tried to do a separate query, with as much info in the subject line as possible that relatives couldn't help but recognize their relative. Using their real and nicknames helps a lot too, like you did. Good luck!

When he was 8, he and his parents and family travelled from York County, PA to New Lisbon, Ohio. He served in the Civil War as a Pvt with K Co, 143rd Infantry Regiment, OVI. He was born on 4/28/1828 and died 5/21/1906 in Lisbon, OH. I am looking for any information any one may have on his family in York, PA. There were several Adams' families that moved to New Lisbon from York around the same time. A William and a Samuel Adams are listed int he Lisbon Cemetery Index as coming from York, PA, but I have not been able to connect Mathew W. with either of them. Praying that someone can help me continue with my quest, I hate to have to stop my family line at this point. Thanks Tom

Did you try posting on the McClendon message board, the message board for their county, and did you try searching LA archives for the records you are seeking?

    3. I am sending a one-time message to the Adams surname since I am not researching the name. I inadverdently received a death certificate (#2390 Manhattan) for a Bessie Adams who died January 23, 1921 in Manhattan. She fell or jumped from the 11th floor of 680 West End Avenue, a tenement building. She was 45 years old, a married housewife. Father's name Horace J. Boyley (?), mother Emma Williams. Bessie was buried in Woodlawn Cemetery on January 26, 1921. Hope this helps someone. Celia

    3. I'm just a little curious Yes! I know nothing about my Adams family in Ireland with the exception that it is said they were friends/neighbors with the Marlin family that lived in Londonderry. The Adams/Marlin families intermarried. My Adams line starts here in SC with 3 Adams brothers. John A. Adams b. 1822 William J. Adams b. 1824 Archibald Stewart Adams b. 1829 These boys all married Marlin sisters. Your mention of the name Archibald peaks my interest. It is said the Adams came to America prior to 1820 and most likely around 1800-1815 area. The Marlin family (parents of above sisters) came to SC in 1834. So it would be the parents of the Adams boys and the parents of the Marlin girls that probably grew up together in Ireland. My John Morrow Marlin and wife Rachel Graham, parents of the Marlin girls were born 1795-1799 respectively. PS.... I do not recognize any of the other names you mention.
