    3. I agree Gary that there needs to be more stories about our Ancestor's to go along with the names, dates, wills & census records...... But what I am saying is that we need to discuss the MOVIE less & the STORY of ancestors & such more. RW frowns on "off topic" (Movie) chatter. that is why I (the listowner) am requesting that the movie (itself) be discussed less, but the ADAMS topic the story of the movie can be shared. 3. Given the involvement of the original Adams, and the descendant playing his own great grandfather, I'd say this is a terrific example of genealogy "coming to life". The signficance for people who have an interest in the surname Adams, or share that same surname, would be much greater than any other forum, I would think. I, for one, wish there were more stories about our ancestors, rather than simply names, dates, wills and census records. Gary Allen Richardson an Adams cousin from MA

    3. well past few days it was mentioned to the list. It is a movie coming out, right now playing in film festivals regarding Robert Adams and his wife; Upon the headstones of Robert Adams and Eveline McCord Adams are written their telling epitaphs; Robert's reads - "After life's fitful fever, he sleeps well." Eveline's reads - "To know her was to love her." Based on a true story: This is a journey through the psyche of a Southern captain in the waning days of the American Civil War. In an emotionally charged performance, Julian Adams portrays his great-great grandfather Robert Adams, a strong willed southern Captain, who used his guns and his heart of fire to rally his men to fight for their lands. Filled with passion, blood and tragedy, "Strike the Tent" is the tumultuous true story of a man divided by love for country and for Eveline McCord, his beloved girl from the north. Produced and written by the descendents of Robert and Eveline, this is an explosive, richly detailed saga of fierce combat, honor and the will to risk all that's precious for love or country. http://www.strongbowpictures.com/strikethetent/ You must not have seen the mention of this in the Adams list a few days ago. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Alli" <iamcheroke@filertel.com> To: <ADAMS-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, May 10, 2006 1:22 PM Subject: Re: [ADAMS-L] Fw: Strike the Tent--Question > Out of curiosity what does this movie have to do w/ADAMS > Research/genealogy? > > Alli :) > List owner > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Janean Ray" <JRay38@neo.rr.com> > To: <ADAMS-L@rootsweb.com> > Sent: Wednesday, May 10, 2006 9:56 AM > Subject: [ADAMS-L] Fw: Strike the Tent > > > > Many questions regarding this movie were popping up such as "where and > > when" can it be seen so I just asked. > > > > > > ----- Original Message ----- > > From: Solarfilmworks@aol.com > > To: JRay38@neo.rr.com > > Sent: Tuesday, May 09, 2006 6:44 PM > > Subject: re: Strike the Tent > > > > > > Janean, > > Thank you for your note on "Strike the Tent." Bailey was brother of Nathan, Roger, and Charlie Adams. This is from previous GenForum inputs. Orphans court records in Sussex confirm that Bailey Adams had a son John (along with other children).
